I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at California State University Fresno in 2002. For the past 20 years, 1997-2018, I worked as a Deputy Sheriff with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. I completed University of California San Diego Extension ABA approved Paralegal Program in 2018 where I was selected for the Lambda Epsilon Chi Honor Society.
After going through a divorce myself, I decided I wanted to work to become a paralegal so I could help others through a very emotionally taxing time. Everyone’s situation is different, but they are all emotionally taxing.
I have opened a Legal Document Assistant business where I provide paralegal services (assistance to attorneys), Legal Document Assistance, and Notary Public services. You may be asking yourself, “What is a Legal Document Assistant?” Let me explain. A Legal Document Assistant prepares legal documents and provides general published factual information that has been written by or approved by an attorney pertaining to legal procedures, rights or obligations, to assist self-represented litigants.
LDAs were commonly known as Independent Paralegals until the creation of Business & Professions Code 6400 in 2001 which redefined the term “paralegal” to mean only those who work for and are supervised by attorneys.
Registered and bonded Legal Document Assistants are not attorneys; however, we can assist you in the preparation of your legal documents, at your direction.
My hope is to assist people with the paperwork of whatever legal issues they may face. Dealing with the court system can be overwhelming and the forms very confusing. I would like to assist you with your paperwork and filing in a financially prudent manner.
Everyone has the right to represent their self in court. I will work diligently with you in whatever your document needs may be.
I will always have a soft spot for those men and women who make great sacrifices for our community and country. I offer a discounted rate for all first responders and military.
I am not an attorney. I cannot give legal advice nor represent you in court. I can however, aid you with filling out forms at your direction.
